City formats are the second type of outdoor advertising and usually are located in crowded places. City formats originally were targeted to the passengers waiting in bus-stop stations in the shape of two sided panels with internal lighting. While waiting for the bus, passengers had time to study in details the advertisement. After a while city formats were also installed in the streets, at crossroads, and other crowded places.

The standard size of a city format is 1.8m x 1.2m (1.8m – height, 1.2m – width)
There are also city formats of other sizes: 1.2m x 2m, 1.25m x 2m.
